Personally I'd calibrate one monitor and not worry about the colour of the tools :0) TabooTiki edited this topic 115 months ago. I've calibrated a 52" HDTV, 6 PC monitors, 7 MacBook monitors, iPad and iPhone. I am running windows and have no problems choosing which monitor using an Nvidia 460gt video card.

Just choose from the mail calibration screen which monitor you want to calibrate. I also have the Spyder 4 Elite - how do I calibrate for dual screen? I dont want to compromise them main screen as the second screen is predominately for tools etc in PS/LR. Guys I have a 27" iMac and just acquired a 23" Apple Cinema Display. I don't have a workflow for calibrating on my Canon Pro 9000 Mark II, but what I see on my screen to the output on the paper is pretty spot on as well. I took a chance and got the Spyder 4 and it's been fantastic. I also own the Spyder 2 which I absolutely hated. The Huey Pro was also designed for Pantone calibration which it does fantastically, but it was definitely not close to matching my two monitors like the Spyder 4. I own the Huey Pro as well, and although I have no comment or know of the complaints about the Spyder 4, there is a huge difference between the two products. Many video cards can only use one profile and not the fault of the profiling device. Most if not all of the dual monitor profile issues have to do with the OS and video cards. It may well be fine for you, but I'd have a decent hunt round before committing. So I looked at the Spyder 4, and found a bunch of negative comments about in various forums - specifically with dual monitors. I have been thinking about upgrading from my long time owned Huey pro recently, because while it handles two screens OK for Photoshop, it is not making such a good job with Premiere Pro, and After Efects etc. I calibrate both with an X-rite i1 but my second monitor is an Eizo so the first profile is in the computer controlling both monitor outputs from the graphics card, the second profile is in the monitor ( the Eizo is calibrated in monitor so the first profile which is being output to both monitor outputs is corrected to display the correct colours on the Eizo) I have dual monitors calibrated with the the Spyder 4 Pro as well.ĭoesn't the last profile made effect both monitor outputs when using one graphics card ? But it lies - both my laptop and netbook are calibrated with the same device. I've got the Spuder 4 and yes, it said it wouldn't calibrate two screens. If you're on a mac, you can use this program with the Spyder 4. The main page for it says it can: /portfolio-view/spyder4pro/ I have heard there is a certain way you can calibrate both ? I have my laptop & also my HP screen i use for editing.
